A community hero, Mr. J. Eddie Jones past away this week. Here is a picture at his going away reception when he moved to McKinney. He and our son are discussing Mr. Jones' war times. Our son told Mr. Jones that he got to visit an aircraft carrier the previous summer. J.Eddie told him that he needed to visit a battleship. This summer our family had an opportunity to visit the USS Alabama battleship. Our son's first question was, "Is this the battleship that Mr. Jones was on in the war?".

Oh, this just makes me so, so sad! He was such an encouragement to me while we were in Dalhart. I wish I could be there for the funeral.
Oh my goodness! I hadn't heard that he had passed away - a legacy of a life he lived! Mark really admired him. So many wonderful things and memories he left with everyone. We will miss you, J. Eddie!
