Are you ready for some football!!

We got a chance to sit in the press box with daddy during the Wolves v. Caprock game. It was super fun, the kids got to try on radio headphones. you can tune into Friday night football on http://www.kxit.com/ and cheer on the Wolves!

Weapons School

I don't know if I should be worried, but our son loves weapons. He likes to pretend fence, shoot, turn, perry, thrust. This is his 'weapons school', he set it up himself, complete with his desk and various 'decor'. He really isn't violent, no really. Although, I was a little concerned when he asked for a toy bayonette.

Mystery Girls Club

Our daughter and her friends from school have started a club. It is quite exclusive, all the girls of their class are involved, there are three of them. They solve mysteries and have their own flag (pink and purple stripes scotch-taped to a twig with a real leaf in the corner). Their first mystery to solve was trying to find a hair clip that a younger student had lost at recess. Although the school yard was scoured, no evidence turned up. Our little one hosted a meeting at our house where they took turns carrying around the flag and signed a 'pledge' which said something along the lines of 'being part of the Mystery Girls club and if you quit you will forever be banished'. Ouch - that is harsh!

Why I dig my planner.

I love the pocket in the front, it also has tear away sheets that have a grocery list on one side and menu planner on the other.

These poor rookies never made it past training camp, the momagenda is cool, but thick. The pink one had flimsy pages. Now I'll be so organized!

...and FOUND!!!

I see I'm not the only one who has to have a plan. This post garnered more support than my run-in with Jesse Jackson! The planner was hiding in a basket of school work. I told my friend J when she called and asked what I was doing. I explained I was blogging about the loss of my planner, spending 20 minutes on my poem, rather than looking for it! My other fave is my friend K's kids call her planner, "her leather brain"!

LOST!

My calendar is LOST! I'm freaking out! If I miss something, I am not responsible, I have lost my companion and friend. It took me a long time to find this calendar, I am something of a plannerphobic. I would buy a new planner in November or February, just because my old one did not work for me. I eventually came to the conclusion, that it was not said planners fault, but perhaps, the plann-e (that would be me).
Then you have the whole, school year calendar, the new year calendar or the 17 month calendar (my personal favorite). So I finally found one at Lifeway that I LOVE! It is a spiral Christian mom's plan-it. Then there is the type of calendar: wall, spiral, desk, page-a-day, binders, zippers, locks, tags and barrels - sorry I got carried away. There are alot of choices when choosing a calendar - it is a very big thing!
I got the kids' newsletters from school yesterday and I've since been searching for my planner to input all of the things that are going on for them on it. Lost, lost, lost. Ode to a planner:
I've looked by my toothbrush
and by my phone
oh planner dear, I am so alone.

I looked in the kitchen
and even the freezer
I am such a neurotic pleaser.

I looked in the couch cushions
and under the chair
Are you hiding from me - you better not dare!

It is my mission to find you
because I have to,
It is 10:35 and Thursday and I have no idea what to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you Mr. Jones

A community hero, Mr. J. Eddie Jones past away this week. Here is a picture at his going away reception when he moved to McKinney. He and our son are discussing Mr. Jones' war times. Our son told Mr. Jones that he got to visit an aircraft carrier the previous summer. J.Eddie told him that he needed to visit a battleship. This summer our family had an opportunity to visit the USS Alabama battleship. Our son's first question was, "Is this the battleship that Mr. Jones was on in the war?".
